Access is a smart energy management app that helps homeowners reduce energy bills with real-time insights and seamless device integration. I was responsible for creating the app from conceptualisation and research to designing and testing.
Reducing energy bills during the crisis period was challenging for homeowners in the UK. While smart meters are the go-to choice, they cannot control or provide detailed information about individual devices that consume more energy.
I conducted semi-structured interviews to understand why the users were not able to reduce energy bills and contextual interviews to uncover pain points associated with smart meters. Design thinking tools such as - personas, user journey, how might we - were used to analyse and solve the problem.
Providing homeowners the ability to monitor and control individual devices, optimizing energy usage and ultimately reducing bills.
Energy management app was designed from scratch by crafting brand strategy and building design systems.
Average time taken by users to complete common tasks is <2min, indicating strong user engagement with the app.
4.5 out of 5 stars based on user feedback surveys and interviews, where users ranked the feature and app usability.
Less than 5% of users encounter errors while navigating the app, improved the navigation by studying the user behavior and through user feedback.
